SUCCESS STORY FROM NARRATIVES TO FUNDS

Donor: Deutsche Welthungerhilfe

ETI worked with Deutsche Welthungerhilfe, European Union, and National Skills Foundation of India (NSFI) for their community-based crowdfunding platform – Shareon.

ETI worked with Deutsche Welthungerhilfe, European Union, and National Skills Foundation of India (NSFI) for their community-based crowdfunding platform – Shareon. It is India's first commission-free crowdfunding platform by and for non-profits to help India realise the Sustainable Development Goals set for 2030.

The aim was to highlight stories where a community builds a unique solution to a problem they face like right to food,

ecopreneurship, nutrition security, disability rights, access to education.

A few such campaigns included Jal Saheli – building water literacy among women to enable them to manage water by themselves, Budhiya’s Dream – providing quality education using mobile classes to drop-out girls from Jharkhand. 10 campaigns focusing on supporting the marginalised and disenfranchised communities across India finalised to be promoted on media platforms (print, digital, and social media) with an aim of increased attention towards the communities, and a rise in funding towards the issue.

ETI led the development of a photo-book titled Faces of Resilience which built a case for donation on the key challenges. As a success, the project was able to raise over Rs. 1 lakh to support the initiatives.
